Sensitive to Nature

At ELOVATE, we recognise our impact on nature and wildlife, so we give back however we can, remaining sensitive to the environment.

Our 28-acre wildlife reserve provides a beautiful haven for nature, featuring 25 acres of wildflowers and 12,000 trees. At York House, rainwater from both the roof and car park is collected, filtered, and stored in reservoirs within the adjacent nature reserve. This not only supports local ecosystems, including our on-site lake, which provides protection for the endangered greater crested newt, but also reduces reliance on mains water and helps manage surface water runoff.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

We are committed to reducing, reusing, and recycling waste produced on-site. We do this through:

• The City of York Council’s ‘Yorwaste’ recycling scheme
• Recycling printer cartridges
• Shredding, recycling, and reusing cardboard waste
• Using recyclable packaging

Sustainable Packaging

Our commitment to sustainable packaging is demonstrated by our bespoke, biodegradable packaging options. We offer:

• Plastic-free mailing bags made from paper starch
• Eco-friendly paper padded bags
• Paper-based tape
• Shredded cardboard packaging using our specialist shredder & bailer
• Multi-crease boxes, reducing the need for void fill

You can select whichever sustainable eCommerce packaging you need, only paying for what you use. Choose from premium white, natural, eco-friendly brown, or kraft finish. Alternatively, we can help you procure your own bespoke, branded packaging.

Our Carbon Footprint

We are focused on reducing our carbon footprint by using sustainable energy sources and reducing carbon emissions from transport.

With 400 solar panels on our York Distribution Centre roof, 33% of our energy needs are met by solar power. We use low energy induction and LED lighting across all offices, warehousing, and the site exterior, as well as passive infrared sensors in warehouse aisles, helping to reduce electricity usage by 75%!

Our staff are encouraged not just to reduce their power usage, but also to car share or cycle through our bike-to-work scheme. We’ve got electric vehicle charging points in the car park for those already travelling sustainably.

On top of this, we select courier partners who are strong on environmental sustainability, for example Royal Mail and Parcel Force, early adopters of the Carbon Trust Standard.
